COMPANY PROFILE / PUBLIC INFORMATION

Viva Republica (Toss)
Profiles are based on public information. Inclusion does not indicate an available investment opportunity or an offer to buy or sell securities.
What They Do
Viva Republica operates Toss, a mobile financial platform that introduced simple money transfers in 2015. The app now brings together payments, financial account information, loan brokerage, investing and insurance-related services. The wider ecosystem includes Toss Securities and Toss Payments, alongside Toss Bank. Reporting scope matters: Toss Bank is an equity-accounted associate, not a fully consolidated subsidiary. Viva Republica reported a 28.29% interest at 31 December 2025. Its revenue is therefore not added line by line to the consolidated revenue shown below. [1]
Competitive Edge
ONE APP, MANY FINANCIAL SERVICES An established customer interface offers opportunities to introduce adjacent products to existing users. This is an analytical view of the platform model; it does not establish a measured customer-acquisition advantage. REGULATED OPERATING BUSINESSES Securities, payment and banking activities across the ecosystem require licences and ongoing supervision. Those requirements can create entry barriers, while also constraining operations. IMPROVING ECONOMICS Consolidated revenue grew 38.0% in FY2025 and operating profit reached 3.70 times FY2024. Operating margin increased from 4.6% to 12.5%, calculated from DART figures. Business mix and securities-market activity also matter, so margin expansion should not be attributed solely to fixed-cost leverage. [1]
Why We’re Watching
We are watching whether Toss’s growth in earnings is reflected in how private-market investors assess its business. FY2025 consolidated operating profit reached KRW 336.0bn, and H1 2026 revenue rose 53.2% year on year. [1][2] Private share transactions, historical preferred-share funding rounds and prospective IPO valuations are different observations. They should be compared only after checking share rights, transaction dates and liquidity. We do not treat a headline valuation gap as proof of undervaluation. The timing, venue and eventual terms of a listing will be useful reference points for Korea’s consumer-finance platforms. July 2026 press reports described the US listing plan as paused; the company’s eventual listing arrangements remain uncertain. [4]
Key Risks
REGULATION Financial services are licensed and supervised. Changes to capital, conduct, data or payment requirements could affect growth and margins. LISTING AND LIQUIDITY An IPO is not assured. July 2026 press reports described the Nasdaq ADR plan as paused. The timing, venue and valuation remain uncertain. [4] COMPETITION Other payment platforms, brokerages and banks compete for users, distribution and transaction volumes. BUSINESS MIX AND MARKET CYCLE Brokerage activity, payment economics and investment spending can affect consolidated profitability. FY2025 margin expansion does not assure future results. BANK EXPOSURE Toss Bank’s lending creates exposure to credit quality through Viva Republica’s associate investment. This should be distinguished from fully consolidated banking assets and revenue. [1] SHARE RIGHTS Preferred and common shares may have different economic rights. Funding valuations and individual secondary prices are not automatically comparable.
